County/City Contract Priority List Summary

See document history

In the future when new or revised priority list for county and city contract projects are received, each project should be reviewed and a summary sheet provided, showing a preliminary estimate of cost and needs evaluation. This information should be furnished as soon after receipt of the new list is practical.

The following guidelines should be used in completing the Summary.

Columns 1-4- Self-explanatory
Column 5-"Existing Conditions"
Poor alignment; heavy-light drainage; heavy-light grading; culvert; bridges, etc.
Column 6- "Proposed Construction"
Grading & Drainage; base & surfacing; culvert; resurfacing; County to grade & drain; etc.
Columns 7 & 8- Self explanatory
Column 9- This is a preliminary estimated cost only, and it is not expected, nor intended that a detailed estimate be prepared at this time. If the estimated cost is for type contract (LET, ASPHALT AGREEMENT, MATERIALS COST, ETC.) other than the estimate type listed at the top of the summary sheet, the type contract should be listed adjacent to the "preliminary estimate"

It should be noted that a separate "Needs Number" and "Preliminary Estimate" should be provided in the ocation on the summary sheet for additional information if

  1. the county or city has a history of asking the Department to LET projects instead of issuing county/city contracts,
  2. the needs number is low or marginal and a favorable recommendation can not be made as requested by the county or city and an alternate proposed construction can be recommended by the reviewing engineer.

It is further requested that appropriate sketches be attached showing the location and limits of each priority.
