Right of Way & Obstruction Clearances–County/City Contracts

See document history

Upon receipt in the District Office of the approval letter on a proposed county/city contract, a letter should be sent to the local government advising them that additional right of way or obstructions must be clear before the authorization of the contract can be made. In the past, some letters to local governments have stated a 60 day period in which the project documents had to be submitted. It is requested that the letter to the local government, request them to furnish the necessary documents at the earliest date possible and not set a time period or deadline. This is necessary in order that funds for the project will not be unduly tied up for any extended time. It is also requested that the Area Engineer review the project for obstructions as soon as possible.
