Equipment blind spots are a safety concern and can be eliminated by the use of fender mounted and spot convex mirrors. Due to this concern, the following policy has been adopted.
It shall be the policy of the Department that all equipment rated 8600 GVWR and above shall have spot mirrors affixed to both exterior mirrors. In addition, all equipment with a prefix of 406, 407, 410, 411 and any other tandem axle equipment shall have a right side fender mounted eight (8) inch convex mirror.
