To provide consistent repair decisions for the Georgia Department of Transportation's (GDOT) fleet and provide for vehicle expense savings, it shall be departmental policy that any single vehicle/equipment repair costing $1,500.00 or more shall require approval by the Office of Equipment Management (OEM).
District Shop Managers, Office of Materials and Research Shop Manager and Maintenance Activities Unit Manager shall submit a request to OEM prior to performing or allowing a vendor to perform any repairs to a vehicle, rolling stock equipment or off-road equipment. Note: All requests for replacement/overhaul of engines or transmissions shall be approved by OEM.
All Georgia Department of Administrative Services procurement and GDOT purchasing rules and regulations shall be adhered to for the purchase of goods and services. See the Georgia Procurement Manual or contact the GDOT Office of General Support/Procurement Unit for further information.
Each Shop Manager shall utilize the DRIVE database on the OEM web-site to submit the authorization request.
