Stone Mountain Covered Bridge

Originally located in Clarke County spanning the Oconee River, the bridge was sold for a dollar and moved to its present site at Stone Mountain Park in 1965 (for $18,000) and now provides access to the Indian Island picnic area. At it's previous location it was known as the College Avenue Bridge and was well known to generations of University of Georgia students. It was also known as Effie's Bridge, after a nearby bordello.
There are several other attractions at
Stone Mountain Park,
including a riverboat, skylift to the top of the mountain, railroad,
museum, zoo - almost anything you can think of (except canoeing
). A great place to visit.
