A Guide to
Historic Covered Bridges of Georgia

Watson Mill Bridge
Watson Mill Bridge

This is a guide to the historic covered bridges in the State of Georgia. The purpose is to inform, educate and entertain people on Georgia's few remaining covered bridges. In the middle 1990's, the Georgia DOT used ISTEA enhancement funds to rehabilitate these bridges for future generations to explore and enjoy.

The DOT and Georgia Historical Society have unveiled historical markers at Poole's Mill, Coheelee Creek, Euharlee, Howard's, Cromer's Mill, Elder's Mill, Red Oak and Stovall Mill covered bridges. The text and a picture for each marker is available by a link on that bridge's main page.

The covered bridge navigator is available any time you see this small icon Bridge Navigator. It brings up a small window featuring a slide show of covered bridges. Use the bridge navigator to quickly compare bridges. Go to any bridge by clicking its picture. Also at the bottom of each bridge page are navigation arrows and a drop-down list that allows you to quickly visit any bridge.
