Project Overview
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has initiated environmental and conceptual studies for transportation improvements along Old Alabama Road from Holcomb Bridge Road to Medlock Bridge Road. Old Alabama Road is currently listed as a temporary state route with noted public interests to reduce traffic congestion and improve mobility along this corridor. GDOT currently references this transportation improvement project using three state project numbers.
GDOT is utilizing a context sensitive approach in the development of this project. Public participation and input is requested during all stages of this project. The Project Team considers public input vital for developing collaborative solutions that are responsive to both the transportation needs and community ideals.
Project Status
The project is currently at the initial step of the project development process. The most important aspect in this first step is initiating and engaging communities to Get Involved. There are several avenues available for the public and interested stakeholders to provide input into the project. The project team will also provide updates at key points in the project's development.
