Public Workshop 1 - Held June 7, 2007 (What is Your Vision?)
On June 7, 2007, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Mulkey Engineers & Consultants held a public workshop at Mt. Pisgah UMC to obtain input from area residents and commuters about what needs to be changed along the Old Alabama Road study area (from Holcomb Bridge Road to Medlock Bridge Road) and what should remain the same.
Approximately 200 people attended the workshop and provided comments, ideas, and suggestions for improvements to the corridor. On display were traffic study results, innovative transportation solutions, corridor photos, and project timeline & schedules.
Public input was requested at six separate workshop “stations” via the completion of questionnaires identifying common concerns, potential transportation solutions, and community values. Comment cards were given out at Stations 7 – 9.
All comments received at the workshop have been included in the Old Alabama Road project database and will be carefully reviewed and considered throughout the project development process. For ease of reading, multiple comments have been condensed in the summaries found on this web page.
107 completed questionnaires were received during and after the workshop. Multiple answers were possible on each questionnaire; therefore, there may be discrepancies in the number of responses given for each questionnaire and the total number of questionnaires received. If you have any questions about the information listed at the links below, please contact the Old Alabama Road project team.
