Public Private Initiatives Process

Public-Private Initiatives (PPIs) allow GDOT to accept and evaluate both Unsolicited and Solicited proposals from private/corporate businesses for transportation projects. Both Unsolicited and Solicited proposals go through a five phase process outlined below.

Unsolicited Proposals

Private entities can submit an unique and innovative unsolicited proposal for the design, funding, construction and/or maintenance of a transportation improvement to be considered by Georgia DOT if: The project is not substantially similar to other transportation projects already in the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) If it is similar to a project in the STIP, that project has not been fully funded by Georgia DOT or any other entity at the time the proposal is submitted.

Solicited Proposals


Georgia DOT may solicit proposals through the RFP Process as a way to accelerate achievement of the state's priorities for necessary improvements to the transportation infrastructure.
