Welcome to the Office of Urban Design home page. The Office of Urban Design is a part of the Preconstruction Division of the Georgia Department of Transportation. Primarily our office develops preliminary and final construction and right of way plans for roadways within the major urban areas of the state. These areas include metropolitan Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta, Macon, Albany and Columbus. The design engineers in this office also coordinate conceptual layouts; responsibilities which include extensive public involvement with federal and state agencies, local governments, neighborhoods, businesses and the general public.
