Training Program

The Department's Civil Engineering Training Program is 18 - 24 months in duration and is designed to provide the graduate Civil Engineer with practical, hands-on experience with the various components and work activities of transportation engineering. This program is designed to provide Transportation Engineer Associates with an overview of the various work function areas, direct experience with the interdependency and inner workings of the separate work units, and an opportunity to become acquainted with fellow workers with whom they will have contact throughout their career. This intensive training allows these engineers to gain relevant experience and develop their capabilities quickly, and it provides work tenure that contributes to fulfilling requirements for registration as a Professional Engineer.
