Organization
The Equal Opportunity Division is a member of the Commissioner and Special
Staff Section of the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Mission Statement
To provide equal employment and business opportunities that will support
economic development; promote people, families and communities; and improve
the quality of life for all Georgians.
Responsibilities
The Equal Opportunity Division...
- Ensures equal employment opportunity.
- Ensures compliance with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
- Manages and operate Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs.
- Conducts investigations of alleged complaints in violation of Title
VI and VII.
- Monitors On the Job Training (OJT) Program.
- Counsels employees.
- Conducts Contractor Compliance Reviews
- Provides training in:
- Cultural Diversity
- Affirmative Action
- Sexual Harassment
- Workplace Violence
