Organization

The Equal Opportunity Division is a member of the Commissioner and Special Staff Section of the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Mission Statement

To provide equal employment and business opportunities that will support economic development; promote people, families and communities; and improve the quality of life for all Georgians.

Responsibilities

The Equal Opportunity Division...

Ensures equal employment opportunity.
Ensures compliance with Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
Manages and operate Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) programs.
Conducts investigations of alleged complaints in violation of Title VI and VII.
Monitors On the Job Training (OJT) Program.
Counsels employees.
Conducts Contractor Compliance Reviews
Provides training in:
- Cultural Diversity
- Affirmative Action
- Sexual Harassment
- Workplace Violence
