Speech Unit

The Speech Unit researches and writes speeches for Georgia DOT senior managers on topics of interest to the public. In addition, the Speech Unit writes and finalizes State Transportation Board resolutions, takes photos at Board meetings, writes press releases on Board activities, and produces the monthly publication, Speech Briefs (a summary of Speeches by Georgia DOT staff and Board members).

Speaker's Bureau

The Speakers Bureau, which is part of the Speech Unit, was developed as one approach to enhance communications between the Department and the public.  The Speakers Bureau consists of a team of over 200 transportation professionals who are trained and available to give talks on a variety of issues of public interest.  Some of the topics the ambasssadors are available to speak on are the Construction Work Program, GIS and Technology, the Governor's Road Improvement Program (GRIP), Your Department of Transportation, and the Value of Transportation.
