The Georgia Department of Transportation is committed to providing the motoring public with information about transportation issues affecting their community.
The Office of Communications' Special Projects Unit plans, manages and coordinates several statewide and regional public awareness efforts for the Department.
The Air Quality Improvement campaign is focused on reducing the amount of pollution affecting Georgia by increasing the use of alternative transportation options for commuters.
The Click here to visit the Litter in Georgia web site. This site covers Georgia DOT's effort to improve the landscape and appearance of Georgia roadways by preventing the accumulation of trash and debris on frequently traveled corridors.
LUV-the-HOV is a campaign implemented by the Georgia Department of Transportation to educate Atlantans about the benefits of using HOV lanes. This campaign is designed to encourage metro Atlanta area commuters to carpool and use the existing 78 miles of HOV lanes, located on Interstate 75, Interstate 85, and Interstate 20. Use of HOV lanes saves time, reduces commuter stress, and helps improve our air quality.
The Wildflower Program covers the planting and protection of wildflowers on state routes.
The Work Zone Safety campaign focuses on safety issues affecting both construction workers and motorists in work zones on Georgia's highways. The goal is to save motorists and workers from work-zone related accidents and fatalities.
